Guns that hide: the carrier's point defence
Published
In short: the carrier defends itself with three rotary-gun turrets. They come out when enemy craft close in, shoot them down, and pull back into the hull, where they can’t be hit.
At a glance
| Turrets | 3, on top of each stern pod and under the belly |
| Fire | 25 rounds a second |
| Reach | 1,250 m at Mk3 |
| Magazine | 500 rounds |
How it works
- In or out. Pulled in, a turret can’t fire and can’t be hit. On Auto it comes out for incoming craft and pulls back 3 seconds after.
- Quick to fire: it starts firing when half out, and tracks while coming out.
- It leads its targets, aiming where they will be.
- The weapon bar (bottom centre) has a slot per turret group: keys 1 to 9 cycle Auto, Extend and Retract.
