Reckless, cautious, evasive: how your pilots fight
Published
In short: you give orders; your pilots fly and fight. You choose how boldly: reckless, cautious or evasive. A fair fight between equals costs both sides, so you win with support, angle or numbers.

At a glance
| Stance | Key | What it does |
|---|---|---|
| Reckless | Alt+1 | never dodges, bold attack runs |
| Cautious | Alt+2 | fights from the edge of its own reach; turns evasive below half its hull |
| Evasive | Alt+3 | guns off, harder to hit, stays out of enemy reach |
How it works
- Cautious pilots hold just inside their own gun range, stay out of an enemy’s gun cone, and go in when the enemy looks away.
- Pilots take over when an enemy is inside their engage ring, and hand back once it is past the contact ring. See contact states.
- On a leash: a pilot won’t chase more than 4 times its own reach from where you told it to be.
