Reach from spread: guns and ranges
Published
In short: a gun’s reach isn’t a number someone picked. Rounds leave in a cone; the tighter the cone, the farther the gun can hit a fighter. Better Marks group tighter and reach farther.

At a glance
| Mark | Reach |
|---|---|
| Mk3 | 1,250 m |
| Mk2 | 833 m |
| Mk1 | 625 m |
| Mk0 | 500 m |
How it works
- Three bands. Up close every round can hit; at medium range the cone starts to outgrow a fighter; at full reach most rounds miss.
- Mk3 bands: near to 625 m, medium to about 940 m, full reach 1,250 m.
- Rates: fighter guns fire 20 rounds a second, point defence 25, both from 500-round magazines.
- Hold Alt to see the bands drawn on the gun cone.
