Rings round the biggest ship: formations and give-way
Published
In short: select ships and give one order, and they move as a group. The biggest ship leads from the middle, the rest form rings round it, and smaller ships keep out of bigger ones’ way.
At a glance
| Guide | the biggest ship, in the middle |
| Rings | one per class, smallest closest |
| Spacing | 50 m between neighbours |
| Group speed | the slowest ship’s |
How it works
- Rings by class. Each class of ship takes its own ring round the guide, weighted forward.
- Mixed groups move at their slowest ship’s speed. A group of only fighters and scouts flies each at its own speed and arrives in formation.
- Give-way: fighters give way to scouts, and everything gives way to the carrier, dipping under or climbing over.
- Same rules for everyone: every order is plain data, checked and applied the same way for a player or the computer.
