Devlog
Notes from development, one feature at a time. Numbers are from the game as it stands today and change as it is tuned.
- 747 rounds, 146 hits: the same fight, watched or not
In Hostile Flagship, a battle nobody is watching plays out exactly like one on screen. A test runs the same fight both ways and checks every round.
- 36 tanks to Pluto: jump fuel from the rocket equation
In Hostile Flagship, jump fuel is not a made-up number: it comes from the rocket equation, a 1 g burn and a 10,000 km/s fusion drive. Here is how it works.
- Two bays, 4 seconds out, 6 seconds in: the carrier hangar
The carrier in Hostile Flagship launches and recovers through two side bays: a 4-second slide out, 6 seconds in, or a catapult-style hot launch in under a second.
- 8,000 drones at about 72 fps: how swarm wings work
In Hostile Flagship a machine swarm comes in wings: 25 drones, one pilot brain. The cost is per wing, not per drone, so 8,000 drones run at about 72 fps.
- 2.5 km/s, straight down: hot drops and tactical burns
Ships with a jump drive can fall between height bands at 2.5 km/s, or burn straight across an area. Both are fast, committed, loud, and cost no fuel.
- Top, High, Med, Low: four heights instead of free flight
Near the ground, Hostile Flagship keeps orders on a flat plane and gives height four bands: Top 25 km, High 15 km, Med 5 km and Low, 300 m over the terrain.
- 25 tracers a second: building the carrier point defence
How Hostile Flagship's three point-defence mounts work: held tracks, lead with acceleration, hits rolled at firing, 500-round magazines, and guns that retract into the hull.
- 11 places, 14 links: how travel works in Hostile Flagship
Hostile Flagship turns the space between Earth and the Moon into a graph: 11 fixed places, 14 links, one link per jump, and nothing jumps through a planet.
- 384,400 km apart: the Earth and the Moon at true scale
Hostile Flagship puts the Earth and the Moon at their real size and distance in one shared frame, with 11 travel nodes from behind the Moon to 25 km over Sumatra.
